Description / White Anorthosite Geology Specimen in a Box Frame
The interesting markings, colour and shape of this white anorthosite rock are intriguing to look at as you ponder about all that has happened across its 2.49 billon years.
This shard of glassy white, almost pure plagioclase feldspar rock, formed during the Paleoproterozoic Era on what is now the island of Harris, in the Western Isles of Scotland. It comes from a larger piece that we used for the Evolution Timeline wall in our gardens.
