Description / The Meeting Place Giclée Print

This busy, painting-like photograph is brought to life in this high-quality print. It’s a black and white image of elephants, giraffes and zebras arriving at a watering hole in Chyulu Hills National Park, Kenya.

While there was no shortage of subjects and action around this waterhole, photographer James Lewin had to deal with the harsh, unforgiving light. So, he chose to soften the light using a camera converted to infrared, creating this dream-like scene.

The giclee (pronounced ‘jee-klay’) process uses specialist inkjet technology to spray lightfast inks onto museum-quality, archival paper. It means that the print looks very close to the original photograph, which won James the Animals in their Environment category of our sixty-second Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition.
