Nomenclature of Colours Playing Cards

Playing card games just got a makeover! Each card in this collection is a different colour, the name of which is printed alongside. They’re all from a book called the Nomenclature of Colors for Naturalists, which was published in 1886 by American ornithologist Robert Ridgway as a way to standardise scientific descriptions of birds.

So, while you’re playing your hand, try not to be distracted by the beautiful tones of malachite green, wine purple, lemon yellow or orange-rufous.
