Icy Window Print

The wonderful Icy Window image of a polar bear looking through Arctic sea ice in Norway was taken by Audun Rikardsen and features in our sixty-second Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition.

When Audun spotted polar bear tracks close to a seal hole, he drilled an adjacent hole for his underwater camera and connected it to a motion sensor on the ice above. After eight hours, the polar bear approached and looked down.
