Description / Grampian Granite Geology Specimen on a Stand
Fans of British geology might recognise this rock as a grey piece of foliated biotite-muscovite granite. To others it’s simply a beautiful example of Earth’s rock sculpture, which formed 470–474 million years ago in the Ordovician Period.
It was expertly sourced from Avochie Quarry in Aberdeenshire, Scotland as part of a larger section for use in the Evolution Timeline wall in our gardens.
