Description / Cambrian Quartzite Geology Specimen in a Box Frame
If you’re after a special ornament for a geology fan, then this mounted piece of pretty, pale metamorphic rock – one of just 50 pieces – might do the trick.
Each shard measures 5–8.5 centimetres at its largest point and comes individually numbered in a self-standing, black box frame. The rock, which was originally pure quartz sandstone, formed in the Cambrian Period between 526 and 508 million years ago in what is now Lairg, Scotland. It comes from a larger piece that we used for the Evolution Timeline wall in our gardens.
