Audubon was an 18th century ornithologist, naturalist and painter, best known for his pioneering colour-plate book, Birds of America. Audubon’s illustrations depicted life-size birds in their natural habitats. His sketches have remained recognised as some of the finest ornithological drawings created in the 19th century.
These limited edition reproductions of the most sought after prints from Audubon’s masterpiece have been created by disbinding one of the two original sets held by the Natural History Museum. Each print was photographed using the latest digital technology, colour matched to the original and then reproduced at the original plate size.
The paper has impeccable archival qualities as it is acid free, lignin free and free of optical brighteners. Each limited edition print comes with a certificate of authenticity, and is individually debossed, numbered and framed.
