Double 'coconut' geode pair
These stunning twinned ‘coconut’ geodes from Chihuahua in Mexico are about 44 million years old. Geodes are hollow rocks lined with crystals. This particular geode pair is a very rare formation because it’s made up of both a macro crystalline quartz geode and a cryptocrystalline agate geode.

Geodes are often found in volcanic rocks, formed when gas bubbling through molten rock is trapped and cools, later penetrated by silica solution that leaves behind layers of agate and quartz. The geodes are a fantastic ornament for the home and measure about 19.5cm by 13cm.
