The stealthy leopard preys on a huge variety of animals, including antelope, monkeys, fish and even birds. Leopards rely on their 10 sharp fore claws to catch and grip their prey. These elusive hunters use all their curved claws to climb high into a tree while carrying their kill to prevent hyenas and other animals stealing it. Like the domestic cats, leopards’ claws are retractable. This means that they can fold them back into sheathes in their toes when not needed, keeping them sharp for future action.
