In spite of its small size, which is about the same as an adult red kangaroo, Velociraptor was a vicious predator. Its long slender hind legs suggest it was a fast runner. Its hands were strong and suited for grasping, while the second toe on each foot was equipped with an enormous hook-like claw that could swivel around. Possible prey included small mammals and other small dinosaurs.
